These are earrings that Tom made for Ariél. They are delicate and beautiful. What I really appreciate about them is that they are not identical and not perfect. The imperfections smack of character. Somewhat like me. I rather like imperfections: those little cracks in our nature that make us human. And interesting.

I am a flawed crystal. I have not lived a perfect life. I have made mistakes. Made choices that were perhaps not wise. But I am who I am because of this. I do not think I allow myself to be wild enough or rebellious enough though. I am a goody-two-shoes. hahaha! Enough about moi.

Crystals are deemed to have healing properties. They have been used throughout history by different cultures. For example, in Egypt, jade amulets were found in the tombs and burial chambers because of their power to guide souls in the Afterworld. I am, of course, fascinated by the esoteric notion of crystals and their healing powers. It ties in with my Reiki courses that I am doing. On a different note (but I get there by a train of thought in my head) I have been trying to follow up Doula training in the UK. I have found a lovely course but it is Devon and costs more money than I have. But I am putting that on the back-burner as something I would like to explore. So this imperfect little crystal (or have I melted into dew?) will take herself off now and put her feet up with a book and a cup of coffee (any special coffee being posted to me for Christmas??)
