365 Days, Day 24

“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” (Deepak Chopra)

"The sound of ‘gentle stillness’ after all the thunder and wind have passed will be the ultimate Word from God." (Jim Elliot)

"Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself." (Hermann Hesse)

I think my subconscious is trying to tell me something... all I knew when I looked for inspiration for today's photos was the word stillness. A random phrase I overheard: before there can be movement, there must be stillness.

I love being busy and having more than one thing on the go at once. I have 2 or three books that I read 'at once' - a bath book, a bed book and a downstairs book. When I do my housework, I fit it in between other things, or do a bit here and then put in washing and paint and then water the garden, go back to the washing... I am a flitterer! Tom has always known this about me, and I think to begin with found it hard to understand. I think he has, after ALL these years, gained an awareness of my need to flit in everything I do. And he has always respected my need for flittery wings and never tried to tame them. Thanks Tom!

But, now perhaps, it is the time for stillness.

Namaste
