Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail (Unknown)
Ariel and I arrived at Johannesburg International airport this morning after a long uncomfortable flight. The first thing we noticed at the airport was how cold it was. We have become accustomed to buildings being heated in winter. So the cold hit us with its wintry teeth. Outside in a patch of sun, it is beautifully warm during the day – unlike UK winter, where it is cold outside even when the sun shines feebly.
It is good to be back for a visit, even thought the circumstances were rushed and with an underlying sad and worrying note.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the family, and friends over the next few weeks.
