365 Days, Day 157

I would be the most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves (Anna Quindlen)

Tom loves bookshelves. Any excuse and we are off to Ikea to buy new shelves. All of my shelves are filled with books and files. His shelves are filled with books and jewellery making kiln and shelvettes with little containers of jewellery making equipment (shelves within shelves). I have had to curb his penchant for book shelves because we do not have any more space! Some of the bookshelves in his workroom go all the way up the ceiling.

Our little family has inherited our passion for books, so no doubt they too will need to indulge in obtaining shelves for their books.

While I was in South Africa, Tom went to a car boot sale and wandered around. He found a beautiful wrought iron [plant]??? stand. Admittedly, it does have plants on – he bought those too, at the garden centre… But on closer inspection, does this not look somewhat like another … bookshelf [in disguise]?

  1. it could be a towel rack for a big victorian bathroom, one with a bath in the middle that stands on little ornate legs, guest towels on one shelf, bath towels in the middle and small towels on the top ??
