365 Days, Day 278

Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does (William James 1842 - 1910)

Life is change ,everything changes you .You are not the same person you where an hour ago ,nor will you be the same person tomorrow (Alexandra von Streer Henderson)

We saw The King’s Speech today. We understood why it took all the awards it did at the Oscars.

What made a deep impression on me was Lionel Logue, the king’s rather unorthodox speech therapist. He had no professional training, but after the First World War, he treated veterans whose speech was impaired form shell shock, using humour, patience and an innate understanding of the deeper causes of loss of speech. I was deeply moved that his gifts made such a difference to so many lives.

Note to self: Gifts and not necessarily training are what we need to use sincerely to make a difference. I would like to find a way to use my gifts to make a difference in a job, which does not involve teaching…
