365 Days, Day 303

In order to see birds it is necessary to become part of the silence (Robert Lynd)

This is our ‘tame’ pigeon Bob. Dad and I feed the birds: I always try to race him to get there first: I usually do because I can move faster than he can! This morning he said he would wash the dishes if I fed the birds. Hmmm.

At least 26 pigeons gather on the eave of the roof each morning waiting for their food. Bob waits on the edge of the pool and starts eating whilst I am still putting out the food next to him. The rest of the flock wait till I move to the second feeding patch before they flap down for breakfast.

Bob let me this close to him for the photograph.
