365 Days, Day 89

Were it not for hope the heart would break (Scottish Proverb)

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars (Charles A Beard)

When one door of happiness closes, another opens (Helen Keller)

In our life, we need to take the little opportunities of happiness and cherish them. If all our life were smooth and content, we would not appreciate the special moments. We need the dark to appreciate the light. Some one said to me recently that every bright light casts a shadow – it is an integral part of the light.

I had a lovely afternoon spent with our extended family at the Botanical Gardens. We had a picnic in the Spring sun, outside in the fresh air. I savour every moment spent with my gorgeous family. I take the memories with me for when I am in the shadow back in the UK, alone.

[To my mommy: be kinder to yourself. Allow yourself to find joy without guilt. You have a right to unconditional happiness. Even though you have strong bonds and obligations to daddy, you need to give yourself permission to just be you and to just be.]

Though the journey I am on at the moment is difficult and represents the closing of doors of happiness –

I believe that new doors will open.

When the time is right.

See the stars.

There is hope.
